Monica holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and over 15 years’ experience in the non-profit sector. Her experience over the years has left her with a broad understanding of the complexities of community development work and the importance of collective action in seeking for solutions. 

She currently holds the role of Programme Officer at The Learning Trust where she is responsible for grant making and capacity support for NGO partners in the Eastern Cape. 

She is a Knowledge for Change (K4C) mentor at the Rhodes University K4C Hub, supporting mutually beneficial research partnerships between the University and local communities, towards actionable solutions to community challenges. She believes in the power of knowledge co-creation and the role of community- university partnerships as conduits for transformation.
